My New Skincare Routine | Biossance

After being heavily influenced by Reece Witherspoon on Instagram I had to grab a couple of bottles of Biossance to see what the hype was about. I ordered the full sized bottles of Squalane +BHA Pore-Minimizing Toner and Squalane + Vitamin C Dark Spot Serum. The other products came as a mini set in addition to.

It’s been 2 weeks since I’ve started using the products twice daily and I can definitely see a change in my skin! My skin is softer, hydrated and I can see some of my dark spots fading! Win. Win. Win.

If I’d had to choose 3 products to purchase I would select:

  • Squalane +BHA Pore-Minimizing Toner
    • Squalane is the store-bought version of squalene, a natural substance produced by the sebaceous glands that makes up 10 to 12% of your skin’s oil. It’s a natural antioxidant and helps keep your skin supple, youthful looking, and hydrated.
    • Raw white willowbark, a powerful source of natural BHAs with multiple benefits: inflammation-calming, dead skin-dissolving, and texture-smoothing. Blended with hydrating squalane, it’s a first-of-its-kind fusion that dislodges and exfoliates away excess oil, dirt, and debris while also quenching skin. This blend of ancient wisdom and modern technology is made to balance the oiliest skin types without dehydrating the driest, and leaves skin refreshed and ready for the rest of your skincare regimen.
  • Squalane + Vitamin C Dark Spot Serum
    • Vitamin C promotes collagen production, which has the potential to thicken the dermis, diminish fine lines, and is essential for firm, youthful skin.
  • Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil
    • Oil-soluble, shelf-stable vitamin C is a potent brightener and elasticity booster. Chios crystal oil firms and revitalizes to give your skin youthful bounce back, while squalane locks in much-needed moisture. The damascus rose petal extract calms and soothes, leaving behind a soft, natural scent.

I feel they give you the most bang for your buck.

Also, I picked up this Blue Aventurine Face Roller during the Sephora sale last week. I read that blue aventurine is a balancing stone that helps calm the mind and spirit; helps ease pain and stiffness, lessen muscle twitches, spasms, and facial tics; helps reduce signs of stress; supports healthy blood oxygenation and is cooling. It feels amazing after a hot steamy shower! If you’ve never used or heard of a face roller, here’s a tutorial/how-to:

How To Use:

  • Use as part of your cleansing routine or after you’ve applied toner/serum. Start from the center of your face and roll outwards to push stagnant lymph (hello detox!) away from the face. Use the bigger side for jaw/forehead/cheeks and the smaller side for eyes/brows. Use for 2 minutes every morning!

Let me know if you guys try any of these products. Thanks for reading!

Spring + Summer Shopping | Kids Edition

There’s just something about Spring/Summer clothes – the colors, the vibes. They scream joy! Right now, I’m really enjoying orange, lilac and icy blues.

We’re taking a couple of road trips this season with the kids so that means new clothes/gear.

Let’s go shopping!

I forgot my Luggage! Orlando Trip

“Traveling in the company of those we love is home in motion.”

– Leigh Hunt

In celebration of Easter and March Madness, we made our way down to Orlando to visit family – Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Grandparents and Great Grandparents were there. It’s a guaranteed good time when we get together. We stayed with our Aunt Malaika (Meeka), Uncle Colin, Little Cousins Ace and Kingston in their beautiful luxury resort style home. It’s actually one of their many vacation rentals throughout the U.S. – Check them out here at Holiday Rising.

My Mom, Aunt Marian, Aunt Malaika and Grandma Florence hosted one of the best Easter Egg hunts I’ve ever been apart of. Eggs were filled with $1/$5 bills, every kind of candy you can think of and toys. The kids woke up acting like it was Christmas morning – excited to see what the bunny dropped off. With this being the first time the kids celebrated Easter – I was sure to explain to Dallas (4 yr old) and Drew (2 yr old) that the holiday wasn’t about the Easter Bunny but that it was in celebration of the resurrection of Jesus. What the bunny brought was a bonus 🥳. Drew didn’t quite get it but to my surprise Dallas did.

We spent most of our time at the resort (Covid) – taking advantage of all the great amenities (this is a list of amenities we used but there are many more).

  • Onsite Waterpark
  • Basketball Courts
  • Swimming Pool + Jacuzzi (in the backyard of the home)

Our initial plan was to go to Clearwater Beach but the weather that weekend had a high of 70-73 degrees. Also, we were slatted to visit Universal Studios but it was completely sold out (limited capacity). So, we went with plan B – Visit Disney Springs. Disney Springs is an outdoor shopping, dining, and entertainment complex at the Walt Disney World Resort. Over recent years they’ve done a huge renovation and expansion. We felt comfortable visiting due to

  • Limited parking and reduced entrances
  • Temperature screenings prior to entry
  • Face coverings required for Guests ages 2 and up
  • Physical distancing practices including physically-distanced queues and physical barriers
  • Temporary operation modifications, including reduced hours at select locations and no scheduled entertainment offerings or high-touch interactive areas
  • An increased focus on disinfecting and sanitation, including the addition of hand-washing stations and hand sanitizers in key areas

Any who, they have one of the largest Zara’s I’ve seen so you know I had to check it out. I was good and only grabbed a couple of things. Also, we stopped by Everglazed Donuts and grabbed a dozen of the biggest donuts I’ve ever seen (Yum!). We could literally divide one donut into 4 pieces – enough to supply everyone in the house.

Oh. I completely forgot (at home) my huge suitcase loaded with all of my clothes (swimsuits, new outfits, undergarments, jammies, etc.) and shoes. Thank goodness my husband grabbed my toiletry bag off the bed when he loaded the car up – I had all my necessities. Once I realized I forgot my suitcase (when bedtime rolled around) I hurried up and placed a Target Drive-up order. I was able to pick everything up first thing the next morning.

Below I will link everything I purchased.

Dallas (4 yr old son) randomly asked to take off his floaters while at the pool, jumped in and proceeded to swim! Amazing! Our cousin Cortney is a great swimmer so she showed him how to use better form. He was so proud of himself and we were too!

All in all – we had a great time hanging out with family – creating more great memories! <3

The Most Comfy Lounge Wear

I’m loving all of the lounge wear sets retailers are selling these days. Before Covid-19 there wasn’t a big market for cute loungewear. Now you can find sets everywhere – I love how they give you the ability to look cute, feel pulled together and comfortable at the same time. Plus, not much planning/thought is needed when it comes time to get dressed – just pull your set out of the closet and there ya’ go!

I especially love the sets from Nasty Gal. The quality is great and on top of that, there’s almost always some sort of sale happening on top of they’re already great pricing.

Are you into the era of the lounge set? If so, leave your favs down below.

Starting Again…

About 7 years ago I started my first blog, Domi Daily but for some reason I stopped posting to it. It may have been bad timing, lack of confidence in myself, laziness – who knows.

Well, here I am again, attempting to take another stab at this blogging thing. I appreciate y’all coming along with me on this journey – it’s going to be a fun one!

Let’s go!
